Argorev Piedra mortar is ideal for exterior rendering and interior plasterwork, applied in a thick layer (approx. 15 mm) directly onto the brick support, smoothed mortar (M-10), concrete block, thermo-clay, Arliblock, etc, with no need for advance levelling with any other type of mortar. Particularly suitable for impermeable and decorative finishes on walls, patios, etc.
This product has been designed to be impermeable to rainwater while still breathing, so as to allow for hydrometric exchange between the support and the exterior environment.
It can be sprayed mechanically and finished by blasting with coloured stone.
The approximate yield of ARGOREV PIEDRA is 1.5 kg/mm/m².
25 kg sacks (1000 kg pallet).
In the original container in a covered area, for up to 12 months.
The support should be sturdy, flat, as rough as possible and free of dust, paint, oil, formwork remover, etc.
At joints between different materials, angles or special areas with a risk of cracking, reinforce the mortar with fibreglass mesh embedded into the mortar and overlapping the joint by about 20 cm.
On smooth surfaces such as concrete or non-absorbent surfaces, apply a primer coat to improve the adherence before applying the mortar.
At high temperatures and/or in dry winds, it is advisable to wet the support in advance to prevent the mortar from drying out, wetting again 24 hours after application.
1. Mix mechanically with clean water until an even, plastic mixture is achieved, without any lumps, using 28% water (approx. 5.6 l/sack).
2. Leave the mixture to stand for 5 minutes and then remix before applying.
3. For facing, spread with a spraying machine or trowel onto the support, applying a first layer that is not very thick and well compacted, followed by the rest of the material, to achieve a minimum thickness of 12–15 mm. Then level off. If thicknesses of over 20 mm are required, use several layers. The chosen thickness can be achieved by fitting rods for use as a reference. When the material has hardened to some degree but before a skin forms on the surface, stone is dashed onto it manually to cover most of the surface of the mortar. Then use a trowel to push in or flatten the stone evenly.
Do not apply onto gypsum-based surfaces.
Do not apply onto supports or parts with poor or zero absorption.
Do not apply at extreme temperatures (below 5 ºC or above 35 ºC).
Do not apply if it is raining, at low temperatures or with high humidity, as carbonated areas could appear.
